How the
Online Learning Program Works
Each University of Phoenix
Online class shares its own group mailbox, which serves as
an "electronic classroom". While communication between
individuals is common, each class employs a group forum
where students exhibit their work to other students for
imput and suggestion from other students. This maximizes the
quality of most work before it receives a review by the
instructor. Students can also access research material from
the University's electronic library.
The online program is specifically designed to benefit
working professionals and students in a myriad of different
ways. Classes are offered one at a time, in order. There are
no semesters, so you can begin a course of study any month
of year, whne convenience for your schedule. As a University
of Phoenix Online student yo can concentrate on one subject
at a time, and when a class is completed you can move on to
the next course until your degree requirements are
fulfilled.
Online classes last from five to six weeks. As a student you
cand sign on any hour of the day or night, that best fit
your schedule. While this flexibility is unprecedented, it
does require above average dedication. To keep up with
course requirements requires fifteen to twenty hours a week.
What Is
the University of Phoenix Online experience like?
Usually, the first thing the
instructors does each week is send students an outline and
information on the topics for the week as well as a list
assignment, such as textbook readings, case study work, or
papers that will be due.
Every week the instructor will also post short lectures or
elaborates on the material, and provides discussion
questions related to the topic. Throughout the week you work
on assignments on your own, just as you would in a
traditional classroom environment. You use a computer
conferencing system to participate in the class discussion
and ask questions/receive feedback.
